Why Material Matters
Two trims can look identical on the shelf and perform very differently after a year in a wet room. Material decides how well a trim resists moisture, impact and discolouration.
Aluminium Tile Trims
Pros: lightweight, affordable, easy to cut, and available in many finishes (anodised, powder-coated, matte, gloss).
Cons: softer than steel, and untreated aluminium can react with some tile adhesives or cement.
Best for: homes, apartments, and general indoor wall and floor use.
Stainless Steel Tile Trims
Pros: very strong, corrosion-resistant, and suited to heavy traffic.
Cons: costs more, and is harder to cut and shape.
Best for: commercial kitchens, hotels, shower areas, and floors with heavy foot traffic.
Brass Tile Trims
Pros: a premium look that adds warmth and luxury, and it wears well.
Cons: the highest price, and some finishes may patina over time.
Best for: feature walls, high-end bathrooms, and boutique projects.
PVC Tile Trims
Pros: budget-friendly, easy to install, and rust-proof.
Cons: less impact-resistant, and can fade or yellow in strong sunlight.
Best for: dry indoor areas and low-budget renovations.

Our Recommendation
For most homes, a quality coated aluminium trim gives the best value. For wet rooms and commercial spaces, choose stainless steel. Not sure? [Contact [TS Tile Trims]] with your project details.
